WAVES
Who are the WAVES?
The various WAVES’ groups and their associates (husbands, family, friends, alumni and students of the school) have been an active group serving Great Lakes Christian High School since approximately 1950. Over the years the WAVES have raised well over one million dollars ($1,ooo,000) for the school! In the past five years alone we have raised $150,000. This money has gone towards student scholarships, teachers’ bonuses, capital projects, dorm funds, new tables/chairs, new lighting along the driveway, bus repairs, and computer software and upgrades. It is with God’s blessings and help that the WAVES groups have been able to expand their opportunities.
We all serve because of our love for God and because of our belief in this school.
Our goal ($30,000) for this fiscal (2017-2018) year is equally ambitious. Our members are tireless. It would be impossible to calculate the number of volunteer hours over the past year alone. We all serve because of our love for God and because of our belief in this school. We do what we do with joyful hearts! We thank you for requesting our services.
Over the years, we have prepared endless pies, squares, meals, cakes, desserts, meat pies and pastries. We have catered for large and small wedding receptions, anniversaries, church luncheons, birthdays and special holidays. We cater on and off site. As well, we quilt, knit, crochet, design quilts, sell spring bulbs, participate in mall sales, preserve jams and jellies, sell maple syrup, have garage sales, Mom to Mom sales, Princess Parties…well, you get the idea!
There are many chapters in Ontario: Beamsville, Grimsby, Tintern, St Catharines, Georgian Bay (Meaford, Owen Sound and Collingwood), Hamilton, Manitoulin Island, Sault Ste Marie and of course our good neighbours to the south, Niagara Falls, NY.
We are always looking for new projects and are anxious to hear of your fund raising ideas. We are a non-profit organization that has been greatly blessed by God. We have younger and older members. Would you like to be part of our organization? The WAVES would love to have you!
