Clean Air Campaign and Vision 2020
We are very pleased to share that all the work for the Vision 2020 Campaign is now complete and we are shifting our focus to finishing the “Clean Air Campaign,” an initiative that grows out of Vision 2020. Vision 2020 ensures accessibility throughout Ellis Hall, and provides Heating, Ventilation, and Cooling (HVAC) for the entire second floor and the cafeteria. The Clean Air Campaign extends that initiative to all the remaining classrooms and offices on the main floor of Ellis Hall.
The impetus to add this second capital project to the first became clear in this pandemic: air circulation and purification needs to be a priority in every school. At the same time, consistent and efficient heating in cold months continues to be a challenge especially when half our classes are south facing and the other half are north facing. While cooling in warmer months was not initially intended, installing fully integrated HVAC units saved money and provides year-round individualized climate control in every main-floor classroom and office.
As of March 01, 2022, the west wing of Ellis Hall has all the heating and circulation units installed and operating while the east wing is scheduled to be completed in May when the arrival of the remaining units is anticipated. Cooling units will be installed this spring, also. When students return to classes in September, every classroom will have effective and efficient heating, cooling, and purified air circulation.
After successfully fundraising $500,000 for Vision 2020, we are seeking to raise $100,000 by June 30, 2022 for the Clean Air Campaign. Please help us reach our goal!
